TyreSafe appoints Market Engineering for national PR

15 July 2008

Story Title Goes Here Industry body TyreSafe appoints specialist automotive agency Market Engineering to raise awareness of tyre safety.

TyreSafe, the not-for-profit industry body responsible for raising awareness of tyre-related safety issues, has selected Market Engineering as its PR agency, following a competitive three-way pitch. The agency was selected from a shortlist of five and will deliver a stream of news and educational stories to both trade and consumer audiences. The agency will also be responsible for promoting Tyre Safety Month in October.

"We're delighted that TyreSafe has chosen Market Engineering," comments Richard Gotch, managing director, Market Engineering. "Board members were impressed by our understanding of the issues affecting the industry, our in-depth knowledge of both consumer and trade press, and in particular our strong experience of dealing with motor industry specific titles."

The TyreSafe appointment is the sixth big new business win for Market Engineering in the past 12 months. The focus of the account will be generating strong news stories across a variety of media, covering all vehicles, including cars, commercial and off-road vehicles, caravans and motorbikes, raising awareness of the importance of the dangers of defective and worn tyres. "The expansion in our business is clear evidence that our specialist approach delivers tangible results for our client base, many of whom have been with us for over a decade," continues Richard Gotch.

"Market Engineering impressed us with their industry knowledge, original ideas and creative thinking," says Rob Beddis, chairman, TyreSafe. "We look forward to working together to implement successful and dynamic PR campaigns, starting with Tyre Safety Month in October 2008. The appointment of Market Engineering builds on the successful campaigns implemented by Automotive PR over the last 13 years."

Market Engineering will commence PR activity on behalf of TyreSafe from 1st July 2008. The account will be led by Danny Rughoobeer, aftermarket account director. Accounts handled by his team include Caparo, Delphi and XPart. The agency was recently listed by PR Week as one of the top technology agencies in the UK.
