Toyota
Toyota commits more resources to research and development each year than any other car manufacturer, giving its world leadership in the development and commercialisation of advanced technologies for vehicles that are safer, more fuel efficient and kinder to the environment.
Hybrid power is central to its strategy for creating the ultimate "eco car" - one that has zero impact on the world around us- as witnessed in the global success of Prius and the development of electric vehicle and hydrogen fuel cell hybrids that will be coming to market in the near future.
The UK is a key manufacturing centre for Toyota. Its plant at Burnaston, in Derbyshire, produces Avensis and Auris models, including Auris hybrid - the first volume hybrid model to be built in Europe. It also operates an engine plant in North Wales, supplying Burnaston and other Toyota factories in Europe.
