Arnold Clark motors towards TyreSafe membership

Arnold Clark – Europe’s largest independently-owned, family run car company – has become the first car dealer group to join TyreSafe, ensuring that the tyre safety message in Scotland and northern England reaches new heights.

With 109 dealerships spread far and wide north of the border, and a further 36 branches also in England, car owners will now enjoy even greater access to a range of tyre safety advice and information when buying a new car or having their existing model serviced.

Arnold Clark’s TyreSafe membership also couldn’t be better timed with October’s tyre safety month about to start.
Stuart Jackson, chairman, TyreSafe, said: “A quick visit to Arnold Clark’s website shows that car safety has always been a high priority, with tyre safety in particular enjoying special importance.

“And now that it’s joined TyreSafe, more and more customers will have access to a greater variety of tyre safety advice and educational material, which will ensure that the tyre safety message reaches far and wide, helping to reduce the number of tyre related casualties on our roads.”

As TyreSafe’s newest member, Arnold Clark will quickly be championing tyre safety month across its 145 network, including offering free tyre safety checks throughout October.

Customers can also benefit from a variety tyre safety advice and material, including how to check tyres for the correct air pressure, from its expert staff. The move builds on the company’s established success in this area after it was named as AM’s tyre retailer of the year and retailer of the year on 2012 and 2013 respectively.

Dougie Smart, Group Tyre Manager, Arnold Clark, said: “We’re delighted to join forces with TyreSafe and help to educate and inform our customers about the importance of looking after their tyres, which play a crucial role in a vehicle’s safety.

“With thousands of customers passing through our doors every week, Arnold Clark is perfectly placed to promote the tyre safety message first-hand to the car buying public. We can’t wait to get started.”
