As an important point of contact between the tyre industry and motorists, tyre retailers are a vital part in communicating tyre safety messages, which is why Micheldever Tyre Services / Protyre pushed the boundaries to campaign throughout the year.
Why did Micheldever Tyre Services / Protyre get involved?
Micheldever Tyre Services / Protyre wanted to campaign throughout the year as they had witnessed an increasing number of drivers visiting their retail centres that were driving on tyres that were illegal and dangerous as they did not have enough tread depth.
What did Micheldever Tyre Services Ltd/Protyre do?
Micheldever Tyre Services / Protyre’s ambitious campaign plans involved a huge variety of initiatives. As well as the continual removal of unsafe tyres from public use, the teams aimed to perform 10,000 free tyre safety checks through October’s Tyre Safety Month. Seven events were organised with local government agencies and public bodies to check tyres and 14 evening training events for female drivers were held. Online activities focussed on the newly added tyre safety pages on Protyre’s website as well as an e-shot that was sent to more than 62,000 people.
Smashing their target, Micheldever Tyre Services / Protyre teams managed to perform over 16,000 tyre safety checks.
More than 42,000 unique visitors saw tyre safety information on their website, while other PR activities reached over six million people. Most importantly however, the retailer is helping to remove unsafe tyres from use with over 750,000 tyres removed from the market.
