Tyre Safety Month Briefing date announced

TyreSafe, the UK’s not-for-profit tyre safety organisation, has announced its annual Tyre Safety Month Briefing will take place on Thursday 14th July at the Belfry Hotel & Resort, Wishaw in the West Midlands. The briefing will provide an update on the latest issues affecting tyre safety awareness and attendees will be the first to see the materials and resources available to support October’s annual Tyre Safety Month.

All road safety stakeholders are invited but spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Attendance is free with the briefing starting at 2pm following a networking lunch. Places can be reserved using the online booking form at www.tyresafe.org or by contacting the team.

Attendees of the briefing are also invited to join The TyreSafe Awards ceremony which takes place later in the evening of the 14th July*.

The annual Tyre Safety Month campaign, staged every October, is becoming bigger each year with a 50% increase in the distribution of posters, leaflets and other campaign materials in 2015 compared with 2014. That growth is due in large part to the broadening engagement TyreSafe is fostering among tyre industry representatives and road safety stakeholders. Examples of the results of these partnerships will also be shared at the briefing.

Details on guest speakers will be announced in due course.

Stuart Jackson, Chairman of TyreSafe, said: “The briefing is TyreSafe’s flagship event of the year, providing a platform to directly address supporters and welcome newcomers who wish to join the campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of defective and illegal tyres. The focal point of the briefing is the launch of TyreSafe’s dedicated Tyre Safety Month materials which provide the resources and inspiration for much of the national campaigning each October. However, the opportunity to meet and share ideas with colleagues, and catch up on all the latest issues in TyreSafe’s 10th anniversary year, makes the Tyre Safety Month briefing 2016 a must-attend event.”

*Tickets to the TyreSafe Awards Ceremony, which includes a three-course meal, are priced at £40 + VAT with the option to include accommodation at £135 + VAT.
