TyreSafe membership is taken to the ‘Max’

Leading tyre safety organisation TyreSafe has been given a further boost with the news that Maxxis has become the latest tyre manufacturer to join its ranks.

Maxxis has over 40 years of manufacturing experience and during that time has won many prestigious awards, but now its industry expertise will be put to good use by TyreSafe to help spread the tyre safety message.

As a full TyreSafe member, Maxxis will benefit from early participation and involvement in the group’s campaigns and activities. It will also have access to a wide range of TyreSafe publicity material, both printed and online.

Stuart Jackson, chairman, TyreSafe, said: “Following the success of October’s Tyre Safety Month, we’ve seen a great deal of interest from potential new members, not just tyre manufacturers but other companies and organisations associated with the trade.

“We are particularly pleased that Maxxis has put pen to paper and joined the TyreSafe family. Its high standards for quality, efficiency and innovation are widely recognised and will add great weight to future campaigns.”

Maxxis manufactures tyres for almost all types of vehicles, from standard car and motorbike tyres, through to ATVs, Quads and off-road bikes. Commercial vehicles are catered for with truck and bus tyres also an area of expertise. Its products are distributed in the UK by Maxxis International UK plc based in Felixstowe, and Stapletons Tyres based in Letchworth.

Derek McMartin, managing director, Maxxis said: “Tyre safety has always been of paramount importance to Maxxis and we are rightly proud of our history of manufacturing reliable and durable products. Therefore, it makes perfect sense to go one step further and give our support to TyreSafe, which has played such an important role in helping to reduce tyre related accidents.

“But don’t just take our word for it, the facts speak for themselves. Since TyreSafe’s inception in 2006, its activities have helped reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured each year in a tyre related accident by 38 per cent. Therefore, we know that our input will really help make a difference – even just one life saved makes it all worthwhile.”
