Vintage Tyres is the world’s largest specialist supplier of tyres for veteran, vintage, and classic vehicles, with a history dating back to 1962. Founded by National Motor Museum creator Edward Lord Montagu and Philip Pollock, the company was established to ensure a continued supply of period-correct tyres for collector cars and motorcycles. Today, it operates from the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, Hampshire, and a second location in Bicester, maintaining a massive inventory of over 20,000 tyres and tubes that span the dawn of motoring through to the 1990s.
The company is unique because it is both a retailer and a manufacturer; it owns the moulds for many “endangered” tyre sizes and produces its own brands, such as Ensign and Waymaster, to keep historic vehicles on the road. They stock premium brands like Michelin, Dunlop, and Avon, and provide specialized services including expert fitting for delicate split rims or wire wheels, and a “test fitting” service to check clearances on bespoke projects.
