As we reflect on another landmark year, TyreSafe is proud to present the 2025 Annual Review, highlighting the power of partnership in driving forward tyre safety across the UK and beyond.
A Year Defined by Partnership and Progress
2025 has been a year of significant progress for TyreSafe.
Our 19th Annual Briefing, themed “Working in Partnership,” reinforced the message that collaboration is central to saving lives. With over 225 members and supporters — from local authorities and enforcement agencies to trade associations and global partners — TyreSafe’s reach and impact have never been greater.
Our work continues to be recognised both nationally and internationally. In 2025, TyreSafe received the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award (for the second time), the Institute of Master Tutors of Driving Award, and a nomination for the Brake Fleet Champions Award. These accolades reflect the strength of our evidence-led approach and the collective effort of everyone who shares our vision.
Our Vision and Mission
Vision – Zero harm to road users in the UK due to illegal or poorly maintained tyres.
Mission – To empower every road user with the knowledge, confidence, and tools to keep their tyres safe and roadworthy, reducing incidents and saving lives.
Campaigns That Drive Real Change
In 2025, TyreSafe’s campaigns reached new audiences and inspired meaningful behavioural change through data-driven insight and creative storytelling.
Highlights include:
- Tyre Safety Month – “Under Pressure”, addressing the financial and emotional stress that leads drivers to neglect tyre checks.
- Young Driver 2025, a joint initiative with THINK!, DVSA, and NPCC, highlighting the risks of tyre neglect among new motorists.
- Targeted campaigns such as Tread Safely (with the Diabetes Safety Organisation), The Farmer’s Five (with Yellow Wellies), and Take Tyre Safety by the Reins (for equine transport safety).
- Founding the UK Towing Safety Alliance, uniting industry partners under the TLC – Tyres. Load. Connectivity. campaign.
These programmes, combined with pioneering enforcement and fleet initiatives, demonstrate TyreSafe’s continued commitment to innovation and evidence-based action.
Collaboration in Action
Collaboration remains the cornerstone of TyreSafe’s success.
This year we:
- Formalised partnerships with the BTMA, NTDA, and ITMA, aligning the UK’s leading tyre trade associations under a shared safety agenda.
- Worked with Sussex Police to launch the UK’s first digital tyre enforcement tool.
- Partnered with Lancashire County Council to embed tyre safety into fleet operations.
- Continued to support local authorities, emergency services, and community organisations to deliver tyre safety at a grassroots level.
Every partnership amplifies our message, extends our reach, and strengthens our impact.
Looking Ahead – Celebrating 20 Years of TyreSafe
As we look to 2026, TyreSafe approaches a major milestone — our 20th anniversary.
To mark two decades of progress, our 20th Annual Briefing and Gala Dinner will take place on Wednesday 10th June 2026 at The Belfry.
The event will celebrate the achievements of our members and partners while setting the direction for the next era of tyre safety advocacy.
