UK road safety charity TyreSafe has partnered with leading road safety audit and training provider TMS Consultancy. This collaboration brings together two organisations committed to reducing road casualties by championing the ‘Safe System’ approach—combining road safety engineering expertise with vital vehicle safety advocacy.
Over the past 35 years, TMS Consultancy has delivered more than 19,000 Road Safety Audits and over 2,500 training courses to private and public sector clients across the UK, Ireland and internationally. Their focus on practical recommendations and bespoke training solutions complements TyreSafe’s mission to improve road safety through education, research and awareness, particularly around tyre safety and vehicle condition.
Through this collaboration, TyreSafe and TMS Consultancy will work to bridge the gap between road design and vehicle safety. By integrating TyreSafe’s expertise into TMS Consultancy’s extensive training programmes, the partnership will help road safety practitioners better understand the critical relationship between tyre condition, braking distances, and road surface interaction.

This partnership strengthens TyreSafe’s network of over 250 supporters, spanning local authorities, transport bodies, police forces, and other organisations, ensuring that consistent, evidence-led tyre safety messages reach a wide audience of drivers and road professionals. TyreSafe have partnerships with the Institute of Highways Engineers and the Road Surface Treatment Association, to continue to build on tyre safety awareness and the relationship between tyres, road surfaces and other road safety infrastructure. Joining forces with organisations and businesses directly involved with the development and maintenance of the road network supports TyreSafe’s adoption of the Safe System, working to mitigate unavoidable human error by ensuring safe roads, safe speeds, safe vehicles, safe road users, and post-crash response.
