TyreSafe partners with Mission Zero to strengthen fleet safety and support Vision Zero ambitions

TyreSafe partners with Mission Zero

TyreSafe has announced a new partnership with Mission Zero, a leading quality standard for the road fleet sector, to support organisations in improving compliance, reducing risk and working towards the shared ambition of safer, cleaner and more responsible road transport.

Mission Zero provides organisations with a structured roadmap towards zero collisions, zero emissions and zero prohibitions, helping fleets demonstrate their commitment to improving road safety standards. The scheme is built around a comprehensive legal compliance audit, combined with recognised industry best practice, providing organisations with a clear framework to strengthen their fleet operations.

The partnership brings together two organisations with a shared focus on improving standards across the commercial vehicle sector. By working together, TyreSafe and Mission Zero will promote the importance of tyre safety as a key element of effective fleet risk management and occupational road safety.

Mission Zero is officially recognised as meeting key contractual requirements across major infrastructure and transport programmes, including Transport for London’s Work-Related Road Risk (WRRR) requirements, HS2, Sizewell C, National Highways and CLOCS.

TyreSafe already works closely with several of these organisations, including National Highways and CLOCS, helping to ensure tyre safety remains a central consideration within wider fleet safety and compliance initiatives. TyreSafe’s expertise has also been recognised at a national level, with the organisation’s work referenced within the government’s emerging approach to work-related road safety and the development of a National Work-Related Road Safety Charter.

Through this partnership, TyreSafe and Mission Zero will support fleet operators in understanding how effective tyre management contributes to safer vehicles, improved compliance and reduced occupational road risk.

Nick Caesari, CEO at Mission Zero, said:

“Tyre safety is a fundamental part of managing risk within any fleet operation. Mission Zero is focused on helping organisations move beyond compliance and adopt a proactive approach to safety, and working with TyreSafe allows us to strengthen the guidance and support available to operators. Together, we can help businesses understand the important role that safe, well-maintained tyres play in preventing incidents and achieving their wider road safety goals.”

Stuart Lovatt, Chair of TyreSafe, said:

“We are pleased to partner with Mission Zero and support its ambition to help organisations achieve higher standards across fleet safety. Tyres are one of the most important safety-critical components on any vehicle, yet they are often overlooked as part of wider compliance and risk management strategies. By working with Mission Zero, we can help more operators recognise that effective tyre management is a vital part of achieving safer fleets and reducing work-related road risk.”

The partnership reflects TyreSafe’s continued commitment to collaboration across the road transport, enforcement and fleet sectors, ensuring tyre safety remains a core part of the wider journey towards Vision Zero.

By combining expertise, resources and industry engagement, TyreSafe and Mission Zero will work together to help organisations create safer fleets, reduce preventable incidents and support a more sustainable future for road transport.
