Help Drivers Stay in Control After Sudden Tyre Deflation

TyreSafe is pleased to welcome Tyron as a new commercial supporter, strengthening the collective effort to reduce road casualties caused by tyre-related incidents — particularly those involving sudden tyre deflation.

Tyron brings decades of experience in mobility and vehicle control during tyre failure. Its support will help further TyreSafe’s mission to educate all road users about the critical role of tyre safety and to raise awareness of how even a moment of lost control during a blowout can lead to devastating consequences.

Stuart Lovatt, Chair of TyreSafe, said, “Sudden tyre deflation is one of the most dangerous situations a driver can face, whether on a motorway, rural road, or in an emergency vehicle. Tyron knowledge and real-world experience in helping drivers stay in control during these events is a welcome addition to our collective mission. Their support will help us reach more drivers with life-saving advice on how to prevent, respond to, and reduce the risks associated with tyre failure.”

Originally developed for police and emergency vehicles, Tyron’s approach has always focused on one goal: helping road users reach a place of safety when the unexpected happens. The technology behind their MultiBand system — now used on a wide range of vehicles from cars to fire appliances and commercial fleets — enables the tyre to remain attached to the wheel during deflation, helping to maintain steering and stability.

Peter Simson, Director at Tyron, added, “We’ve seen first-hand how tyre failure can lead to loss of control in seconds. For us, this is about giving drivers and passengers the best chance to stay safe in those moments. Becoming a supporter of TyreSafe reflects our shared commitment to promoting safer roads and giving people the tools and knowledge to protect themselves, their families and other road users.”

The partnership will support TyreSafe’s ongoing campaigns to reduce tyre-related risks by raising public awareness, educating road users, and sharing best practice across industries — from consumer vehicles to frontline services.
