TyreSafe partners with BRAKE Australia to strengthen road safety education for novice drivers
TyreSafe, the UK’s road safety charity dedicated to tyre safety, has announced a new international partnership with BRAKE Australia, the Australia-based road safety charity dedicated to delivering evidence-based driver awareness education to young and novice drivers.
The partnership brings together two organisations with a shared belief that knowledge, education and practical understanding are essential to safer roads. Both organisations recognise that continued education is critical to maintaining and improving road safety outcomes, particularly among novice drivers during their most vulnerable early years behind the wheel.
BRAKE Australia has delivered its approved, eight-part driver awareness curriculum to more than 80,000 students across over 160 Queensland schools, equipping young people with a deeper understanding of behaviour, risk, attitude, knowledge and education—the core principles behind the BRAKE programme.
Through the partnership, TyreSafe will support BRAKE Australia’s education-led approach by reinforcing the role that tyres and vehicle condition play in safe driving. Tyres are the only part of a vehicle in contact with the road and have a direct impact on braking distances, grip in wet conditions and overall vehicle control—factors that are especially critical for inexperienced drivers still developing their skills and judgement.
