Introduction
Tyre Safety Month – October 2007
This October, TyreSafe are promoting a month long consumer campaign to highlight the importance of correct tyre pressure.
The campaign, backed by Channel 5 presenter Vicki Butler-Henderson, will promote the three key benefits of correct tyre pressure:improved road safety;reduced fuel and tyre costs and reduction of CO2 emissions.
'So many drivers neglect the basics of tyre maintenance' says Vicki. 'But keeping the correct tyre pressure means optimum vehicle handling, improved road grip and better braking and cornering.Having the correct pressure also means that motorists will benefit from longer tyre life and use the minimum fuel required for their vehicle – which helps save money and the environment!'

Why should you get involved?
The campaign will be supported by press and radio interviews with Vicki Butler-Henderson.The whole tyre industry can play their part in backing the campaign – and that includes you. We want as many retailers as possible to lend their support by offering a free tyre pressure check to their customers. By doing this, you will be promoting a vital safety message, increasing the overall effectiveness of the campaign and benefiting from the increased footfall from customers responding to the offer.
How do I take part?
A range of support material is available free of charge including a Press Advertising Template, Free Pressure and Tread Check Posters and a Tyre Pressure Leaflet. Please play your part by showing your support.
