As we move through another busy summer, TyreSafe continues to strengthen its position at the heart of UK road safety through new partnerships, expanded industry engagement and preparations for two of our biggest annual campaigns.
Over recent months we’ve welcomed new supporters, forged important collaborations across policing, local authorities and occupational safety, and continued to champion the simple tyre safety messages that help save lives every day.
Here’s a look at what we’ve been working on – and what’s coming next.
Building Strategic Partnerships Across the UK
TyreSafe has continued to expand its network of strategic partnerships, embedding tyre safety within wider road safety and public safety programmes across the country.
DUNLOP and FALKEN Join TyreSafe
TyreSafe is delighted to welcome DUNLOP and FALKEN as official supporters of the charity.
The addition of two globally recognised manufacturers marks another important milestone in TyreSafe’s continued growth, strengthening our ability to engage motorists, support evidence-based campaigns and influence future road safety initiatives.
Together, DUNLOP and Falken bring significant expertise across premium, performance, SUV, passenger car and light commercial vehicle sectors, further broadening the range of manufacturers supporting TyreSafe’s mission.
The partnership reflects a growing recognition that improving road safety requires collaboration across industry, enforcement, government and road safety organisations.
Commenting on the announcement, TyreSafe Chair Stuart Lovatt said:
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome both DUNLOP and FALKEN to TyreSafe. The more leading manufacturers we can bring together around a shared vision for safer roads, the greater our ability to influence behaviour, share expertise, generate evidence and deliver life-saving safety messages.”
Looking ahead, TyreSafe will work closely with both manufacturers across research, education, awareness campaigns and industry engagement to help reduce preventable tyre-related incidents on UK roads.
West Mercia Police
Following the success of a major roadside enforcement operation earlier this year alongside the DVSA, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service and industry partners, TyreSafe has officially partnered with West Mercia Police.
The collaboration will support future education, enforcement and engagement initiatives across more than 10,000 miles of road network covering Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire, helping reinforce the Safe System approach through improved vehicle condition and safer roads.
City of Wolverhampton Council
We’re delighted to welcome City of Wolverhampton Council as our latest local authority partner.
Working together, we’ll promote tyre safety amongst licensed drivers and the wider motoring public through education, compliance activity and the distribution of tyre tread depth checking resources.
Sheffield City Council
TyreSafe has also partnered with Sheffield City Council to integrate tyre safety into the city’s wider road safety programme.
With more than 1.7 billion vehicle miles travelled across Sheffield each year, the initiative will focus particularly on engaging younger motorists, students and newly qualified drivers, encouraging regular tyre checks as a simple but vital preventative measure.
Expanding into Occupational Road Risk
TyreSafe has announced a significant new partnership with the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB).
Working alongside RSSB’s Road Risk Group, we’ll help strengthen occupational road risk management across Britain’s rail industry by promoting tyre safety as an integral part of fleet safety and work-related driving.
While railway safety continues to improve, road traffic incidents remain one of the leading causes of workforce fatalities outside the rail environment. Through collaboration, education and the sharing of best practice, the partnership aims to encourage organisations to place tyre safety firmly at the centre of occupational road risk management.
Supporting Farm Safety Week
During Farm Safety Week 2026, TyreSafe worked alongside agricultural safety partners to promote practical tyre safety advice during one of the busiest periods of the farming calendar.
Central to this year’s activity was the launch of our new Farmer’s Five campaign, encouraging operators to focus on:
Tyre Pressure
Tyre Type
Weight & Load
Inspection & Maintenance
Storage
Alongside supporting farmers and contractors, we also reminded motorists that harvest season brings increased agricultural traffic onto rural roads, making correct tyre maintenance even more important for braking, grip and vehicle control.
Community Engagement Events – Get Involved
TyreSafe members are invited to support several community road safety events taking place throughout the summer.
Alive to Drive – Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service
Community road safety events providing practical safety advice to local motorists.
Upcoming dates:
30 August – Deepdale Retail Park, Preston (11:00am–3:00pm)
Support is requested for tyre safety engagement stands and, where possible, free tyre checks.
This free family event brings together emergency services and road safety partners to promote Vision Zero through interactive activities and community engagement.
TyreSafe volunteers are invited to support the Vision Zero stand by providing tyre safety advice.
TyreSafe’s flagship Young Driver Campaign returns throughout September, aligning with NPCC Operation Spotlight (22 September–5 October).
The campaign focuses on one powerful message:
Just two illegal tyres could cost a new driver their licence.
Drivers can receive up to three penalty points and a £2,500 fine for each illegal tyre. For motorists within their first two years of driving, six penalty points results in automatic licence revocation.
Research also shows that more than half of drivers aged 17–24 are unaware they are legally responsible for the condition of the tyres on any vehicle they drive, regardless of who owns it.

Tyre Safety Month 2026
ACT Before You REact
Planning is well underway for this year’s Tyre Safety Month campaign.
Built around the theme ACT Before You REact, the campaign encourages motorists to turn those “heart-in-mouth” driving moments into positive action by checking their tyres before a problem occurs.
The campaign reinforces TyreSafe’s core message:
ACT
A – Air Pressure
C – Condition
T – Tread
